ThunderShirt for Dogs

The Thundershirt is a vest that fits snugly around your dog's body. The pressure from the vest has a relaxing effect on the dog. The ThunderShirt is recommended by experts to help calm anxious dogs. It is also highly effective in situations where your dog is afraid, for example during thunder storms, fireworks or while travelling. The ThunderShirt often calms dogs straight away, although some dogs may take some time to get used to wearing it.

How does the ThunderShirt work?

The ThunderShirt applies a gentle, steady pressure on the dog's body that has a soothing effect on the nervous system. This type of pressure is also used to calm babies (swaddling) or people with anxiety disorders. The ThunderShirt has proven to be very effective at reducing anxiety in dogs. In a survey of over 1,000 users, more than 85% of the dogs were less anxious when wearing this vest.

How long should your dog wear the Thundershirt?

In the beginning, you shouldn't let your dog wear the Thundershirt for more than one or two hours. You need to be sure the Thundershirts fits properly and comfortably before you put it on for longer. If you’re keeping the shirt on for longer periods of time, make sure to take it off at least twice a day.

What if the ThunderShirt doesn't fit?

The ThunderShirt can be removed from the packaging and held up next to the dog in order to check whether it fits. For hygiene reasons, the ThunderShirt cannot be returned if it has come into contact with your pet. If we find that the returned product is stained, worn, contains animal hair, smells or has been washed after use, we cannot return the product to you. In this event, it will be donated to a charity (local shelter). As we are often confronted with ThunderShirts that are returned in a less than new condition, we have to apply these rules for fitting and/or returning products.
