Flea drops come in a small, easy-to-handle pipette: a spot on. Squeeze the pipette into your dog’s neck (read the instructions for use carefully) and it is generally protected against fleas for 4 weeks. However, there are flea drops that are effective for longer or shorter periods.
It depends on the active ingredient when fleas die after giving a pipette. Most flea drops have full efficacy within 24 to 48 hours. There are also products that work faster.
In general, you give a spot on flea treatment to your dog every 4 weeks or monthly. How long flea drops work depends on the pipette you choose. So always read the leaflet carefully to see how often you should treat your four-legged friend.
There are also spon on flea treatments that protect against ticks as well as fleas. It is important to treat all animals in a household at the same time.
