Product Description
TROVET Hypoallergenic HPD (Horse) Dog
TROVET Hypoallergenic HPD is hypoallergenic food containing all essential nutrients. The unique combination of horse and potato rarely cause a hypersensitivity reaction. This is partly because TROVET Hypoallergenic HPC (Horse) consists of only one protein source (horse) and carbohydrate source (potato). By feeding your four-legged friend a hypoallergenic diet, you reduce the risk of immunological reactions (food allergy) and non-immunological reactions (food intolerance) in the form of skin or gastrointestinal complaints. In addition, it helps reduce unpleasant allergy reactions, including scratching, scratching or biting.
Also available in TROVET Hypoallergenic HPD (Horse) Dog wet food.
Food hypersensitivity in dogs
When your dog has a food hypersensitivity, it reacts to certain ingredients in food. With special diet food that does not contain the ingredients your dog is allergic to, you can accommodate this allergy. To determine what your dog is sensitive to, an elimination diet should be followed. Does the TROVET Hypoallergenic HPD (Horse) give good results? Then this food is suitable to give to your four-legged friend for life.
Elimination diet
The aim of elimination is to get the dog complaint-free. This can be done in several ways:
- Diet without animal proteins (these cause food allergy in most cases) such as TROVET Exclusion/NVD . This contains vegetable proteins instead of animal proteins.
- Diet with hydrolysed (animal) proteins, in which an attempt is made to split/reduce the proteins in such a way that the body does not recognise this protein as an allergen and an allergic reaction does not occur.
- Diet with 'novel' proteins, so-called new proteins such as e.g. horse, quail, turkey, venison, rabbit or lamb. As this meat is rarely found in commercial feeds, there is less chance that your pet has already ingested it at some point and therefore has already developed an allergy.
