Supreme Tiny Friends Farm Bathing Sand is 100% natural sand and is completely dust-free and free of bacteria. It is naturally absorbent and therefore widely used by owners of chinchillas that are used in shows and must therefore have the best possible coat condition. Supreme Tiny Friends Farm Bathing Sand has been tested for perfect grain size and density, and provides a dust free base for chinchillas and gerbils. It penetrates into their fine fur and ensures healthy and clean skin. The high absorption of this sand will remove excess skin oils and ensure healthy skin and a glossy coat.

Sand bath

Chinchillas should have a sand bath everyday. Throw some bathing sand in a litter box and let the chinchillas roll in the sand. This helps their coat stay healthy and the excess oil is removed. Degus should also have regular sand baths to keep their coats in optimal condition. Degus and gerbils should have access to a sand bath at least twice a week. Always remove dirt directly from the sand and replace the sand every week for a clean bath.

Please note: Chinchillas should not be submerged in water because their fur absorbs water and is very difficult to dry. In addition, water in the coat can lead to hypothermia, which can be fatal.
