    Sectolin Biotin

Due to the variation in hardness of the horn layers, the border areas of the hoof are particularly susceptible to damage. The movement of the horse, the large weight they carry and the surface they have to walk on can all contribute to many hoof-related problems. For quite some time it has been well known that, in addition to external factors, an insufficient supply of biotin in food can lead to several hoof problems. Biotin is a water-soluble sulphur that contains essential vitamin H that is only available in a small concentration in nature. Biotin has a wide spectrum of metabolic functions (carbohydrate and nucleic acid metabolism, fatty acid, protein and purine synthesis). A lack of metabolic functions, therefore, has a far-reaching effect on the animal. With a chronic shortage of biotin, hoof and skin complaints can occur. Research has shown that a sufficient amount of biotin in food allows the outer wall of the hoof to become harder and more resistant against external influences, while the hoof balls become softer in those areas where it is needed. It is proven that biotin plays an essential role in the formation of the skin and the hooves. A sufficient supply of vitamin H is of the utmost importance for the quality of the hoof. Sectolin Biotin is a supplementary animal (diet) food.
