Product Description
Sensitive to heat
Dogs barely have any sweat glands and can only regulate their body temperature by panting or sweating through their paw pads. However this only allows the dog to release a small portion of its excess body heat. Because of this, dogs are very sensitive to heat stroke, which can lead to lasting organ damage, a coma or in severe cases even death.
Scruffs Cool Mat
Overheating can pose a serious threat to pets on hot days, so it's important that you offer your pet a cool place to lie down and make sure they have plenty of fresh water. This dog cooling mat by Scruffs is always 5 to 10 degrees cooler than its surroundings and doesn't require being placed in a fridge or freezer in order for it to work. Depending on outside temperatures, the Cool Mat will stay cool for up to an hour as soon as your dog lies down on it. The mat stops working once your dog leaves the mat, as it is triggered through pressure. The mat requires about an hour for it to recover its optimal cooling effect. In order to recover, no pressure should be on the mat (so your dog should not be on it for at least an hour). The Scruffs Cool Mat can be used both by itself or placed inside a bed or basket. The surface can be cleaned easily, using a wet cloth or by rinsing it with water.
Please note
The gel in the mat is not poisonous. However, the mat does need to me removed in case of damages. Only allow your dog to use the mat under supervision.
