Slow-release energy explained

The diet contains large amounts of oil and starch. These are the main sources of slow-release energy. Normally, starch is known for being precisely a fast-release energy. However, the starch in Pavo RiceBran is digested gradually, which ensures a slower and more stable release of glucose; in other words, slow-release energy! As a result, the glycaemic index can Pavo is low. This index indicates to what extent carbohydrates in a product influence the glucose level in the blood.

The rice in Pavo RiceBran

When rice starches are processed, the rice has to be hulled. Normally, this is done with calcium carbonate (lime). But, when calcium carbonate is used, the calcium-to-phosphorus ratio, which is very important for your horses' health, is affected. The rice in Pavo RiceBran is mechanically hulled, i.e. without calcium carbonate. As a result, the calcium/phosphorus ratio is not affected and Pavo RiceBran remains 100% natural.
