Hill's Prescription Diet s/d is specially formulated to dissolve struvite stones in adult cats. This diet has urine-acidifying properties and a low magnesium content. Bladder stones can cause discomfort and may lead to more serious issues requiring veterinary care.

Struvite

Urinary conditions are often caused by the formation of mineral-based crystals and stones in the urinary tract. These stones and crystals can lead to discomfort, blood in the urine, and even life-threatening blockages. Struvite forms when urine, saturated with protein, phosphorus, and magnesium, has an inappropriate pH level.

Contraindications

• Kittens
• Pregnant or lactating queens
• Cats receiving urinary acidifiers
• Cats with non-struvite bladder stones
• Cats with kidney disease, hypokalaemia, heart failure, or hypertension

Adjust the quantity to maintain optimal body weight.

Feeding Advice

Feed only this food. It is recommended to consult your veterinarian before use or before extending the period of use. For a 4 kg cat: serve 3 pouches per day. Adjust the amount to maintain optimal body weight; this amount may be divided over two or more meals daily. Recommended duration of use: 5 to 12 weeks. Always provide fresh drinking water.

To help prevent recurrence of struvite, you may switch to Hill's c/d Multicare after 3 months.
