Hill's m/d Glucose / Weight Management has a low fat content, promotes fat burning and helps to maintain muscle mass. The diet food has been specially developed for cats who are overweight or suffer from diabetes.

Diabetes in cats

Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disorder and occurs when the body does not create sufficient insulin or becomes insensitive to it, leading to high blood sugar levels. Overweight cats are more likely to suffer from diabetes and need to continuously create insulin in order to remove excess sugar from the blood stream. Eventually, the cells that create insulin become exhausted and the body becomes unresponsive to them. It is important for cats with diabetes to be given a diet food that maintains a consistent, low blood sugar level and allows them to lose weight.
