F-Lysine

F-Lysine is a food supplement for both kittens and adult cats.

F-Lysine is an essential amino acid.

The Feline Herpes Virus (FHV-1) is the most common cause of sneezing, eye infections and eye inflammation in cats. This virus is probably responsible for a large percentage of chronic or recurrent mucosal inflammation of the eyes and upper respiratory tract infections. Cats that are infected with FHV-1 are highly susceptible to bacterial infections.

F-Lysine from Ecuphar can be given in stressful situations such as staying in a cattery or kennel, living in a household with multiple cats or moving house. Stress may be caused by moving house, introducing a new pet, pregnancy, aggression, etc. A virus may recur in stressful situations.

Dosage:

The recommended dose of F-Lysine varies between 250 mg (= 1 scoop) and 500 mg, mixed into the food.
