Ragdoll
Ragdolls are friendly, calm, easy-going cats. Their easy-going nature makes them the perfect companionship for other cats, children or other animals. Ragdolls don’t like being alone, but will find a peaceful hiding place when it gets too noisy. These fluffy cats with intense blue eyes love attention and following their human around all day long! They move through life with suppleness and elegance.

Ragdolls are friendly, social and calm cats. Their extremely soft and kind-hearted nature makes them the perfect companion for other animals and children. It’s a calm breed that doesn’t get bored easily. They have a very supple and elegant way of playing. Ragdolls love attention and are very affectionate. Being a lap cat every now and again suit them just fine. They prefer following their human around all day every day. But don’t make too much noise, as they like their peace and quiet. Ragdolls are typical inside cats, making them the perfect apartment cats, as long as they get enough attention. Ragdolls do have a very curious nature, so a balcony or garden would be appreciated.
Appearance
The Ragdoll is characterised by a robust body with a soft, medium-length to long coat. Their fluffy appearance make them look like a real teddy bear. Ragdolls certainly know how to attract attention with their big blue eyes and fluffy coat.
Colour
Did you know you can’t really tell the colour of a Ragdoll until they’re two years old? Their coat gets darker as they age. Accepted colours are: Seal, Blue , Chocolate and Lilac-Point. The colours Flame-Point and Cream-Point are also approved, as well as the variants Mitted and Bicolour.
Body, legs and tail
The Ragdoll has a robust body with quite substantial bones. The hind legs are longer than the front legs, with compact round paws. Their tail is bushy and relatively long compared to the rest of the body. The tail is broad at the base with a slight taper.
Head, ears and eyes
The Ragdoll’s head is slightly wedge-shaped with a slightly curved nose. The ears are relatively wide-set and slightly rounded. Their distinctive bright blue eyes make it hard to say no to a Ragdoll.
Coat
The Ragdoll’s dense, soft, medium-long to long coat needs regular care. It’s especially important to regularly brush your cat during the moulding period. The coat breaks when the cat moves.
Weight
The average weight of a Ragdoll is between 4.5 and 9 kg.
