  • Product Description

Dogs have virtually no sweat glands. That means that they can only try to regulate body temperature through panting or by sweating through their paw pads. Dogs can only lose only a small amount of excess body heat this way. This means that dogs are prone to overheating, or worse, suffering a heat stroke, which can lead to permanent damage to organs, a coma, or in severe cases even death.

    Key features

Put your Aqua Coolkeeper Jacket in water and the specially developed HydroQuartz inside is activated, becoming a highly-effective active cooling gel. This HydroQuartz gel absorbs your dog's body heat and loses it through evaporation. This means that immediate and continuous cooling is possible. Although the jacket itself has been immersed in water and absorbs water, it will feel completely dry an hour after soaking. The activated jacket cools the animal's blood flowing through their arteries, which lie just beneath the surface of the skin. This cooled blood flows through the body and cools the dog down. It is, in short, the same effect as keeping your wrists under cold running water for rapid cooling!

Aqua Coolkeeper Jacket keeps your dog cool:

    • During warm weather
    • During travel
    • While playing and exercising
    • During outdoor activities

    And provides relief from:

    • Heat stroke
    • Increased body temperature
    • Associated overheating problems

    Use

Submerge the Aqua Coolkeeper Jacket in cold water and within minutes it can be used to keep your dog cool. The jacket's cooling effects can last up to 5 days (depending on environmental circumstances). The Aqua Coolkeeper Jacket can be used over and over again.

The Aqua Coolkeepter Jacket is available in the following sizes (chest circumference)

It's important to know how to measure your pet properly to ensure that you purchase the right size. The How to determine the right size for my pet article offers insight and tips on the best way to do this!

    SizeChest circumferenceLength of back
    XXS 32-45 cm 25 cm
    XS 42-60 cm 32 cm
    S 48-68 cm 38 cm
    M 54-77 cm 43 cm
    L 61-87 cm 49 cm
    XL 67-95 cm 54 cm
    XXL 75-107 cm 60 cm

    Immersion time

Please note: Each Aqua Coolkeeper Jacket has its own maximum immersion time, and a maximum thickness that can be achieved in water. Do not exceed these limits, because then there is a risk that the HydroQuartz crystals may seep through the seams. The Aqua Coolkeeper Jacket has a maximum immersion time of 30 seconds.

After immersion (and, optionally, drying) the product will not be ice-cold to the touch because that would be very unpleasant for your animal (as it would be for humans). The gel will be cool enough to draw off excess heat from the dog, which will then be dispersed through evaporation. We do not recommend using the product straight from the fridge, as the Aqua Coolkeeper may be too cold for your dog to wear, and your dog can't tell you if this is the case.

Although the jacket soaks up water, it will feel dry after soaking. The Coolkeeper jacket itself will not feel wet.

What if the Aqua Coolkeeper Jacket doesn't fit?

The Aqua Coolkeeper Jacket can be removed from the packaging and held up next to the dog in order to check whether it fits. For hygiene reasons, the Jacket cannot be returned if it has come into contact with the dog. If we find that the returned product is stained, worn, contains animal hair, smells or has been washed after use, we cannot return the product to you. Once the jacket has been immersed, the HydroQuartz crystals are activated and the product is no longer in new condition. In this event, it will be donated to a charity (local shelter). As we are often confronted with wearable items that are returned in a less than new condition, we have to apply these rules for fitting and/or returning products.

[b]Please note:[/b After you have submerged the Aqua Coolkeeper in the water for the first time, you may notice small gel particles appearing along the seams. This is not a manufacturing defect of your Aqua Coolkeeper product. The product may push out small pieces of the cooling crystals that are hiding in the seams. If you see any of these gel particles on your product after soaking, simply wipe it off with a towel. This can occur after the first or second immersion. Once the gel particles are wiped off, they don't come back. The gel is 100% non-toxic.

My elderly Shihtzu really feels the heat and the Aqua Coolkeeper works very well he is much cooler and hardly pants when we go for a walk

  • Best cooling jacket on the market
By Beverley Vyse, Friday 10 July 2020

This is the best cooling jacket on the market by far

  • Great fit buy not cool
By Nina, Sunday 21 June 2020

This gets very heavy and doesn't keep my dog (very small frenchie) as cool as the cheaper vests (that don't fit well) I'm actually think of giving up and making one myself as I can seem to find the right jacket.

  • Too heavy and ill fitting
By Dee, Friday 19 June 2020

Unfortunately I had to return this product as it was far too heavy when dipped in water for even 30 seconds and also it fitted very badly. The theory behind the cooling crystals seems a good one but in practice unfortunately it doesn’t stack up.

  • Fantastic Jacket
By Jo, Sunday 28 July 2019

This is by far the best cooling jacket I've had. My near 11 year old bulldog has just survived 40 degree heat in France and this jacket was a game changer in terms of him being able to venture outside for comfort breaks. The key is to not over soak as it does make the jacket heavy. Wish I'd found this 10 years ago!
